Last year Perrins sponsored an essay competition at Sir John Lawes School near its Waterside offices. This was extremely well received by staff and students and we were delighted to continue the initiative this year. The response by the first year sixth students was tremendous, both for the numbers of entries and their quality. Perrins staff found it really difficult to select the three winners from the final shortlist. The essays, on a range of social themes, were thoroughly researched, highly articulate and showed real thought and commitment. All the entrants, not just the winners, were a credit to their school. Our thanks also to the highly dedicated staff at Sir John Lawes for their enthusiasm and especially for narrowing down a difficult task for us!
Especial congratulations to the final three who received their prizes in a ceremony at the school on April 21st from Natalie Sheer of Perrins. The prizes took the form of book tokens to support the winners' future studies.
1st prize of £100 went to Charles Walmsley; 2nd of £50 to Jack Weston; 3rd of £25 to Georgie Smith. We wish them well in their future studies and careers as we do all the students at the school.
