Simon is joint head of Perrins Social Housing litigation team and is also a key contact with the firm for Local Authority clients.
Post qualifying in 1990, he worked in commercial litigation in West London, before forming the housing litigation team at Sherrards Solicitors in 1995, which moved to Perrins in early 2009.
Simon often works on complex cases involving homelessness and anti-social behaviour, and has worked with a considerable number of Local Authority and Housing Association Clients across England. A large part of his work includes representing clients in Court who are seeking possession Orders, injunctive relief, demoted Orders and exclusion Orders.
Described by Chambers legal directory as “a fine lawyer, with an effective style in court”, he is also an accredited CEDR Commercial Mediator, and has been a solicitor advocate since 1998. Thus he can appear in the Court of Appeal, which can lead to reduced costs, and simpler and quicker processes for clients.
He has also helped a wide range of clients with a wide variety of contractual disputes, including partnership and agency disputes, professional negligence issues, and property related litigation.
With the clear priority of helping clients achieve the desired outcome in the speediest and most efficient way possible, Simon focuses on providing straightforward, no-nonsense advice and clear recommendations. Clients also value his commitment to regular communications and updates to keep them informed, and have described him as “prompt and thorough.”
As well as providing seminars and training for clients, Simon has contributed to the Journal of Housing Law and Solicitors Journal and has also lectured to the Hertfordshire Constabulary, on anti-social issues. He is also a long standing member of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates and the Social Housing Law Association.
