Angela is joint head of Perrins Social Housing litigation team, and is also a key contact with the firm for Local Authority clients.
She has exclusively focused on Social Housing Litigation since 2000, following 8 years as a criminal lawyer, and predominantly works with Housing Association and Local Authority clients across London and the South East. Angela has been recognised as a national leader in the field by Legal 500 and by the Chambers legal directory, which described her as “an extremely effective advocate.”
In part this has been through achieving results in difficult or complex cases, and thus making a real difference to the quality of life or behaviour of residents in Social Housing schemes.
Angela has worked on a broad spectrum of cases to include cases involving drug dealing, offences of violence right through to noise nuisance. Angela advises in a pragmatic and client focused manner. Her background in criminal law has added a further dimension to the advice that she can provide to clients.
Angela has built a loyal client following through an accessible and friendly attitude, being viewed as a member of the in-house team by many clients. With an approach that avoids “legal jargon”, and provides an honest appraisal of the merits of cases, her aim is always to work effectively to get the right result and to minimise cost.
Recognised as a leading expert in anti-social tenant litigation, Angela has also lectured on ASBOs to the Metropolitan Police. She is currently a committee member of the Social Housing Law Association and is actively involved in the Women in Social Housing group.
